How to choose a therapist on Vínculo

What to look for in a profile to find someone you feel comfortable with.

Choosing a therapist is personal. There’s no right answer, but there are a few things that help.

Start with what’s happening to you

In search you can choose a topic (anxiety, grief, relationships, sleep…) and filter by format, city, language and price. If you don’t know where to start, try Help me choose: a few questions and we’ll suggest profiles. The decision is always yours.

What to look for in a profile

  • Their introduction video. In a minute you’ll know whether the way they speak puts you at ease.
  • How they work. Their approach (for example, cognitive behavioural or systemic) and which topics they have experience with.
  • Their verified credentials. College, registration number and their practice’s health registration.
  • Availability and price. Whether they have times that suit you and how much each session costs.

Ask before booking

You can message them to ask about how they work. And if after the first session you feel you’re not a good fit, you can change professional whenever you like.
