If you’re in danger now
Call 112 or go to the nearest A&E. If you can, ask someone to go with you.
If you’re thinking about taking your own life
Call 024. A team of professionals will answer, 24 hours a day, at no cost and without judging you. Telling someone how you feel is a first step, and you don’t need to have the right words.
In the meantime
- If you can, don’t stay on your own. Call or message someone you trust and tell them how you are.
- Move away from anything you could use to hurt yourself.
- Breathe slowly: breathe in counting to four and out counting to six. Repeat it a few times.
- Very intense emotions usually ease with time, even if that’s hard to believe right now.
If you’re worried about someone else
- Ask them how they are, directly and calmly. Talking about it doesn’t make it worse.
- Listen without judging and without trying to fix everything.
- If you think they’re in danger, don’t leave them alone and call 112.
- 024 also helps family members and people close to someone who need guidance.
If you already have a therapist on Vínculo
Your therapist isn’t on call outside sessions, and chat messages aren’t an emergency channel. If you need help, call 024 or 112 first, and tell your therapist at your next session.
Vínculo is not an emergency service and doesn’t do triage. This page brings together free public services for immediate help in Spain.
